Wialon Local release

Тема: Wialon Local release

What is the timing of Wialon Local to be released? I will upgrade existing users to Local from Pro as I think it will give better standardization with Hosting.

The issue we have is that the larger customers want on premises but functionality to hosting is different. If we can have a common platform with close to similar functionality like I hope Local is that will be a big plus in the market.

Re: Wialon Local release

JohnG,

Thanx for the interest to our new product – Wialon Local. Yes, you got the right understanding: Wialon Local is a server solution with the same functionality as Wialon Hosting has today, with plug-and-play installation and clear administration process.

It will be released in the end of April and will be presented at the Navitech 2014

More information about Wialon Local you can find in our Weblog

Also you can always write an e-mail to me, your Personal Manager, and we’ll discuss the fine points of migrating to new Wialon product from your existing ones.

Hi Alan

i have already sent to you an email regarding the pricing and the approach for upgrading.

Wialon Local release

Re: Wialon Local release

Dear GoGPS ,

Please see recommended server requirements below:

Ram 64GB+ (wialon + avd).
Processor Xeon E31230.
Software RAID10, 4x2TB+.
Internet channel 50Mbit+.

Also from our experience Local works on:

Ram 16GB
Processor Core i7
any RAID from 2TB

But with high load projects it's better to go with recommended requirements as above.

Wialon Local release

Re: Wialon Local release

GoGPS, due to specific installation and redistribution model not all servers are compatible with Wialon Local. In such specific cases you will need to use virtualization, e.g. put Wialon Local into VPS container that can afftect performance.

More details about the reasons and actual server requirements will be covered on Gurtam partner conference in Moscow.

Now I can only recommend to use server with pure software RAID in MD Raid-1 or MD Raid-10 configuration. Also look for Debian compatible hardware.

Re: Wialon Local release

For the OS can we use Fedora 64 bit instaead of Debian? Most of the providers for dedicated hosted servers are using Fedora?

Does Gurtam offer server hosting?

You can run any OS and host Wialon Local in virtual environment.

Re: Wialon Local release

Wouldn't performance be affected if we used a virtual server rather than a dedicated server?
