Relation between Videos and ECO Driving violations

Тема: Relation between Videos and ECO Driving violations

Hi

Some devices for video surveillance like SmartWitness KP1 can send video (or image) based on predefined events on HW. KP1 upload these videos and also send driving quality data (G-Sensor data). We can create some ECO Driving criteria based on driving quality data and generate ECO Driving reports. Unfortunately there is no possibility in Wialon to find out each video is sent to server is related to which ECO Driving violation. It would be great if we can find a way to link videos (images) to an ECO Driving violation. It may be done by one of below ways:

- Provide a link to received videos or images in ECO Driving report table for each violation
- Tag videos and images in Video/Image report table in a way which user can understand the reason of capturing that

May other partners have better ideas how to do it.
Let's discuss about it here...

Re: Relation between Videos and ECO Driving violations

hhamedk If you use KP1 directly with Wialon (without SmartwitnessGateway) -- device doesn't send video by event.
Device sends parameters and pictures (before and after event). After receiving these pictures wialon recognizes the time of first and last picture and requests the video from internal memory of the device between these pictures. It means, that video which you see in Wialon  -- techically it's not video by event -- it's video, which was requested from device memory by command (but time of this video is exactly some seconds before and after event). It will be rather difficult to connect the event and video  in the report because there is no mark of this connection.

Using SmartWitnessGateway is more suitable for customers because gateway sends direct weblink to videofile and there is parameter which indicates the source of this videoevent. But using SmartWitnessGateway requires additional fee to Smartwitness.

We can create proper sensor and also notification based on that to execute "X seconds of video request" command. In parallel we will use same sensors as eco-driving criteria. This way all will be inside Wialon without help of HW. This way can you tage received videos in a way that shows user on which violation video is received/requested?

Re: Relation between Videos and ECO Driving violations

hhamedk, you mean, you have two tables now: one with video files, second with eco-driving violations. But you want to see this in one table.
If I understand you right, then your task may be done with Wialon SDK without problems. But it is rather strange to be a basic function in Wialon. A little number of users have the same method to work with Eco Driving like you.
We know the number of users with "video" units.  If we calculate a percent who use if for EcoDriving purposes at the same time, we'll get one hundredth or even less.
