Group reprt on Geofences

Тема: Group reprt on Geofences

Hi there

We need to create a report on geofences but don't know how to do it and if it's possible or not. I try to explain the situation:
We have some different Units and each Unit has different geofence (path) for each day of week. As an example the unit A should only go to geofence A1 on Monday, A2 on Tuesday, A3 on Wednesday and same way for other days of week. We have same situation for Unit B and geofences B1, B2 B3 etc and same way for other Units. If we want to create a report in this situation we have to create 7 different report templates for each Unit. Can anyone help us solve this problem?

Please consider that we just want to check Units availability on their path of day, so, if you have in your mind any other way to solve this problem with other system modules, please share.

You can add several tables with time limitation by days of the week to one report template.
If you want to see information in one table, you can use several different notifications (also with time limitations) to register events for units. Result can be shown in one table "Events".

If you mean connection status, then you can use appropriate notification or report table.
Also you can try routes with several different schedules for different days of the week.

Thanks for you suggestion, how about units? there are about 300 units, It's really a hard work to execute reports for 300 units everyday.

No, I mean units should  move inside an exact path, a linear geofence as an example.

Concern is exact path, not timeline of visiting check pints.

In such a case you should definetly use table "Geofences".

There is no other possibility in current functional to connect geofences with specified units.
You can only set up geofences in table/notification settings for 1 day for 1 unit. This means:
* 1 report with 7 tables for 1 unit;
* 7 notifications for 1 unit.

Re: Group reprt on Geofences

Hi GT

Would you please find a solution for our case? It's really hard to convince a customer to do the procedure which zark explained. May yo put this in your development schedule? Ability to bind Geofences to Units.

Re: Group reprt on Geofences

It's not clear how function binding geofences to units should work.

In the described case I'd recommend doing some complex work: group geofences by units or days, create group report with time limitations and tables for every day with appropriate geofences. E.g., the first table shows visiting [A-Z]1 on Mondays, [A-Z]2 on Tuesdays and so on. That's a way how to use just one report for all units.
The success of such the solution depends on geofences. If they don't overlap or overlap just a little, you can get correct result with filtering functions help. It means if Unit C should ride on Route C3, Unit D should ride on Route D3 you should get an accurate result. But if C3 matches D3, then it's a problem, that can be solved only by creating a report for every unit.

Re: Group reprt on Geofences

Hi tata
Thank you for your patience. but  the issue is that the geofences of  many units have much overlap and it is very Irrational and non-normative to create a report for every unit.
