Topic: A small Android utility to register events in Wialon

WERA – Wialon Event Registration Appliance

WERA is a small Android utility, which can be used to register events on Wialon.

WERA can be helpful if you want manually register information about some events. For example, it was developed for commercial agents, who should register information about visits to their customers. In this case the agent had a tracker in his car, but the utility can be used absolutely indepent of kind of tracker which is installed. The binding between the tracker and event will be established on the server during event registration procedure.
After the event was registered, the information about it can be used for any purpose. For example, to generate reports containing these data etc.

The current version contains three text fields for information. But it is planned to extend WERA for flexible field configuration.
If the internet connection is available the events will be registered immediately, without the connection they will be saved in cache. The cache contents can be sent to the server later.

Compatibility
The app is compatible with Wialon Hosting and Wialon Local (Wialon Pro was not tested, but may be it works too).
The app is compatible with Android since version 4.0.

Installation
To install the app firstly allow the installation from any source in the phone settings. After that download the apk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/etyt2rd98ymup … 2.apk?dl=0
And simply install it smile
Important:
Immediately after the installation go to the app settings and change the server URL, user name and password. The app won't work without the correct settings.

Testing and future versions
At the moment the app is in the beta testing phase. The app won't be free, but also it won't be too expensive. The implemented functionality will be „polished“ in the next versions, but the implementation of the new functionality depends on the public interest smile  If the public will have some interest on the further development – we will extend it. And because the Wialon API has nearly inexhaustible possibilities we have them too smile

Re: A small Android utility to register events in Wialon

The app uses the OLD password-based login method, which was removed on Wialon Hosting (but maybe it is still usable on older Wialon Local installations).  So I will try to implement the new login method and publish the app update here.

I have the same problem "unknown error"

Also for this to be useful if this application can be called from Wiatag and we can change the fields that can be sent

I've fixed the problem, but... it is now not really comfortable to use. I will make it more comfortable, but not in the next days. So if you want to test despite of some "discomfort" you can do following:
1.  Download the new version from this URL:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/658b9q4gtl7qz … 4.apk?dl=0
and install it on your smartphone or tablet.
2. On your PC (!) open the following URL in your browser:
http://hosting.wialon.com/login.html?ac … type=token
Enter your login and password and click on "Authorize". The browser should display you message "Authorized successfully". Now click the location field of the browser. In it should be something like this:
http: // hosting.wialon.com/login.html?access_token=10d39d7961c67612d1121aaba199e7035118B53626653EA6A8A5B4019D015341018F32F4&svc_error=0
Copy all characters between "access_token=" and "&"-sign. It should be 72 characters. In my example it is "10d39d7961c67612d1121aaba199e7035118B53626653EA6A8A5B4019D015341018F32F4"
Send this string to your smartphone for example through email.
3. On your smartphone open the WERA App and go to the settings. Open the setting "Login Token" and paste there the copied string (all 72 characters).
4. Now you can use WERA. If you can login, you've done all things right.
I'm sorry for this a little bit complex procedure, if you have interest to use the app, I will make it more simpler (without the necessity to copy the login token from PC). But I hope you can test it now.

Fields are completely changeable. You can add or delete fields as you want.

Re: A small Android utility to register events in Wialon

Do you have enough memory on your smartphone to install new apps? If yes, try to download it again. Maybe your local apk copy is broken.
(The apk on server is not broken. Other users installed it and it works.)

Re: A small Android utility to register events in Wialon

"Unknown Error" comes from the Wialon and means mostly that you can't log in. So check the token. Also it important that the token is still valid. If you strictly follow my instructions again you should receive a new valid token.
