I have several Teltonika FM1100 devices with different codes on the label: FM11XM N2PP01 and FM11XM V1PP01 .

I have seen on this forum that the latest FM1100 firmware version seems to be FMA1YX.01.28.16.Rev.0, but some users use versions 1.21 or 1.19 instead of the latest, as can be seen from the Taki and Kernel posts 1.496 and 1.497 in this forum.

Can someone please explain the difference and if I can always use the latest version (FMA1YX.01.28.16.Rev.0) with my devices ?

glwi If you satisfied of using the latest version you can use it without the problem.
Sometimes our customers find some bugs in some versions.  If  you find some bugs in the latest version, you can discuss it here and notify manufacturer.

As I understand it, it seems that with some older firmware versions there is no need to reconfigure the device.

Perhaps this is the only reason why that user has not used the latest firmware version available and has requested an outdated old version.
