Sensor icons-based Status Page

Topic: Sensor icons-based Status Page

Hi everyone

We would like to add a topic for a feature/enhancement.

We have clients who are used to sensor icons-based status page, now we know that Wialon platform already supports some icons however there is only an option to choose one sensor, and it is only displayed as color codes and not icons.

We also attached some sample screens and icons. Upon doing a search on the forum, we read about a related, but not exactly the same, request <https://forum.gurtam.com/viewtopic.php?id=10701>

Re: Sensor icons-based Status Page

Hello, jdv

Please, try to attach your samples once more, there are no any examples now.

Also, I'd like to notice one more similar theme on the forum. We plan to add the new action by a notification - icon changing. So your client could change any icon by any sensor value. Is this solution suits you?

Sensor icons-based Status Page

Re: Sensor icons-based Status Page

Hi Tatsiana

Please see attached.

Also, the idea here is to have sensor values represented by icons i.e. ignition (by a key icon), seatbelt, door, etc. which will be displayed on monitoring panel as well.

Could you elaborate more on the icon changing on notification? Does it mean that the device icon will change based on the icon set on notification?

Yes, you are right. These days it will be available in Beta.

Thanks for the more detailed description of your idea. We will think about it.

Re: Sensor icons-based Status Page

Hi, jdv.

We have been analyzing your request in detail and so far have got some questions I hope you can help us with.

Could you please describe the "real-life" use case(s) for displaying icons of several sensors in the monitoring section per one unit as opposed to displaying icon of only one sensor? In what production situations this may come in handy?

Additionally, we assume that users do not need to view values for all the sensors assigned to a unit, they are interested in specific ones so it would be great if you can share your ideas on what are the sensors users would mostly need to see icons with values for? For instance, there is some feedback from partners that it is necessary to display the battery power of particular devices in the monitoring section.

Contribution from other partners is highly appreciated smile

Thanks,
Masha
