Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Topic: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Hi there!

A number of our partners expressed their interest in the increase of informational value of Locator through inclusion of Sensors into it. We have heard the comment and now we would like to ask our community for the feedback.

In order to visualise possible solution, please, see the following images:
Mobile version
http://dl3.joxi.net/drive/2017/03/29/0022/1790/1500926/26/b6f468b9fe.jpg

- Two new buttons are added to the map view: sensors view (see the next image) and filters (e.g.: allows to filter sensors);
- Search (on objects, addresses and names of geozones) field is added;

http://dl3.joxi.net/drive/2017/03/29/0022/1790/1500926/26/dceed2b53c.jpg

Sensor view shows all sensors that are marked as visible in properties of the object;
- Filter (e.g.: allows you to filter sensors);
- Value is colored in accordance with Intervals and colors in General properties of each sensor;

2) PC version:
shares the same functionality as mobile view, however map view and sensor view are shown on the same screen.

We would be glad to have your feedback on the feature and comments on two question:

- Would that feature be useful for you?
- Do you have specific cases in mind for which your clients could you the feature?

Many thanks.

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Hi there

Very interesting idea. Is it possible to add a counter in locator to show the expiration time of link?
Another idea is that we have a statistics for each link to report us some items like number of requests of link, IP of client, duration of requests and...

Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

We have found this Locator an invaluable tool for our Clients, particularly within transport/delivery and trades services - electrical/plumbers.

This has allowed them to send a Locator link to their customers who are waiting delivery or service enabling them to be able to track their progress as they are on their way to them.

If things such as "Sensors & Filters" are added, can this be done so that this additional functions can be chosen or be hidden from customer receiving the Locator link - it will only serve to create confusion and or provide them with too much information.

This has been serving our clients extremely well being able to send this Locator link to their customers in simple form - increasing and improving their customer service, something that we have not seen available with our competitors.

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

hi FleetPursuit!

The idea is to add an additional check-box "sensors" when one creates the link similar to "geo-zones" and "tracks". If user wishes not to add sensors to the locator, she is free to do so.

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Finalized design

User creates a link and adds sensor masks:

We have also:
- added link expiration timer;
- standertized icons with Wialon Hosting;
- added an option to build multiple tracks:

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

looks cool, how is the "multiple tracks" function triggered? can i add a "parameter" to the link which automaticaly enables it?

Thanks

Hi wwbusch aka Buwo,

I have seen your request. Unfortunaty we won't be able to provide batch track request in Locator with this feature. However, it is kept in our team's mind. If we come up with the elegant solution we will add "select all" to this drop down menu. How do you feel about that?

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Hi Pavel,

that doesnt help as i can not "automaticaly" embed that into a website.
I thought its just a simple function to develope, maybe 1 day or so...

So i can not solve my task, need to find other solution for this :-(

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Hi wwbusch aka Buwo,

We will further experiment with your request.

The conserns at the moment are:
- such requests might significantly increase a server load;
- functionality has it's message limit constrain that users may face in a significant amount of cases;
- it might take a long time to render all tracks.

We will test the system response with 40-60 units requesting a time preriod of 24-36 hours.
Please, let us know your conditions in terms of amount of units and time period.

I will update you with the outcomes.

Alles Gute!

Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

Hi Pavel,

thanks for the re-thinking.

I think "track not more than 24 hours"-limit would be ok because it makes no sence to show longer tracks.
And i also think that you can limit it to 10 vehicles or so, otherwise it looks totaly chaotic on a track.

So "limits" makes sense and better with limits than no function :-))

Maybe some of the other partners writes something about needs/limits?

Thanks

Yes, I would think so as long as the GPS  device is still active and functioning. Unless I misunderstand your question.

If there is no tracking device on the vehicle that was stolen it won't be shown in 'Locator' or any other application.

zayedsaid14 wrote:

'Locator' shows current location of the vehicle as available in Wialon.

When you open any map on the mobile phone you can have your own location spotted.
Why don't you have same functionality than? To see both "your current location" and whatever else is available there in locator.

Re: Wialon Hosting: Sensors in Locator

on, zayedsaid14

Besides the locations of the Wialon units that are shown in Locator one may also turn on her device's 'Current location'.
Documentation:

To define your current location press the corresponding button (green arrow) in the bottom right corner. Afterwards, the map will be scaled and centered on your location.

Here's a screenshot to visualize the above-said:
